Kathryn J. Hecker, M.D., F.A.A.O.
Dr. Hecker has been practicing Ophthalmology for over 19 years, 16 of which have been in Greensboro. She received her undergraduate degree in Education from Central Michigan University and worked for six years as an elementary school teacher in Texas. After putting herself back in school, she received her medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, and then spent a year training in Internal Medicine at Stamford Hospital in Stamford, Conn., an affiliate of the New York Presbyterian Healthcare System and a major teaching affiliate of the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. She then went on to complete her Ophthalmology residency training at Vanderbilt University.

Dr. Hecker has over 19 years of experience performing thousands of cataract and lens implant surgeries, as well as surgical management of glaucoma, Diabetic Eye Disease and eyelid lesion surgery.

Christopher D. Weaver, MD
Hecker Ophthalmology is pleased to welcome Christopher Weaver, MD to our team of physicians. Dr. Weaver will be joining our practice on August 1, 2016.
Dr. Weaver is a General Ophthalmologist and will focus his practice on surgical and medical treatment of diseases of the eye, including the following: cataracts and cataract surgery, medical and laser treatments for glaucoma, surgical treatment for eyelid lesions, diabetic eye exams and comprehensive ophthalmology.
Dr. Weaver completed his ophthalmology residency as chief resident in ophthalmology at the University of Virginia Health System in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Dr. Weaver is a graduate of SUNY Upstate Medical University, College of Medicine, where he received numerous academic honors and awards, including the Excellence in Clinical Skills Award in 2010, induction into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, Gamma Chapter in 2011, and the prestigious Kenneth Tuck Award in 2015. He completed his undergraduate studies at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, CT, graduating summa cum laude with a degree in Biology and went on to receive his Masters in Public Health from Dartmouth Medical School. In addition, Dr. Weaver completed a summer fellowship at SUNY Upstate Medical University in the Department of Neurology. Dr. Weaver trained at both Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in the Department of Infectious Disease and International Health and at SUNY Upstate Medical University in the Department of Neurology. When he is not working, Dr. Weaver enjoys the outdoors and spending time with his wife and daughter.
