About Dr. Van
Chaunhi Van, MD, is a comprehensive ophthalmologist at Hecker Eye Care Associates in Greensboro, North Carolina. She has expertise in the medical and surgical management of eye diseases, including but not limited to cataracts, glaucoma, eyelid lesions, dry eye, diabetes, blepharospasm, and age-related macular degeneration. She also has a special interest in premium cataract surgery and Botox.
Dr. Van was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, but she grew up in Florida. She became a gator when she attended the University of Florida for her undergraduate degree in biology. She then attended the University of Central Florida College of Medicine for medical school. After graduating from medical school, she worked in a pathology lab and researched ocular melanomas at the University of Iowa as an ophthalmic pathology fellow. Following an internship at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester, Massachusetts, she completed her ophthalmology residency at Wake Forest Baptist Health in nearby Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She practiced for a few years in Florida and is excited to return to North Carolina after realizing how much she missed it and is ecstatic to be joining Hecker Eye Care Associates.
Dr. Van believes every patient deserves the best eye care and that a respectful, supportive physician-patient relationship is vital to that care. She is dedicated to providing great service to her patients by implementing up-to-date medical advancements with the latest technology.
When she is not at work, Dr. Van loves spending time with her dog, hiking, going to the beach, kayaking, sailing, cooking, traveling, and practicing the piano.
