I was required to have a field vision test at my optometrist's practice. It is due to my having beginnings of macular degeneration. I am 82 years old, and The State of North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles sent a letter to me stating that I needed to ascertain my peripheral vision scores on a form for review by their medical department. That was the reason for my visit today. The staff put me at ease, gave me a time slot of an hour for my exam, checked many visual issues with and without glasses, and filled out the form for me. I was nervous and didn't understand why I needed this test since I see either Dr. Kathryn Hecker or Dr. Chaunhi Van semi-annually and have outstanding service at this eye-care center. My final results were reassuring. I have no visual restrictions that might affect my driving ability, and there are no concerns about my ability to operate a motor vehicle; there is no recommendation from this specialist for a DMV follow up; Thank you, Dr. Van, for the thorough required exam you and three of your excellent assistants provided for me. This eye center is the top of the line, and I recommend both Dr. Van and Dr. Hecker for giving both professional service and caring support.

The staff & Doctor is very kind & listens to patient with concern. During this pre-op appointment for Cataract surgery of left eye, she also checked right eye which she did in November.

Everyone was extremely helpful and professional. The results are great and speak well of Dr. Hecker's expertise! The only other comment that I have is that it was along wait for the surgical room - all alone. Could not the patient's family be present until the patient is taken into surgery?

Office ambience is pleasant and comfortable. The staff is friendly and professional. The doctor is confident and understands her specialty, as well as, very good at explaining test results and conditions in “laymen terms”. She spends time answering patient questions. Very pleased with service

Scheduling an appointment on a Saturday was quick and easy. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Dr Hecker is very friendly and knowledgeable and explained the outcome of X-rays very well and in depth.

I had a positive experience with Dr. Vann. This is my first time visiting with her and I've heard nothing but good things. She asked me questions relative to any issues I may have had with my eyes and she answered every question that I had. Overall I was very pleased with my visit.
